Do consecutive high earnings-call scores line up with post-earnings returns?

You follow U.S. public companies and want a clear answer: have consecutive high earnings-call scores lined up with post-earnings returns? A single high score can be noise. Most coverage does not put that map in one place.

Tellvest publishes that map on Returns as Score Consistency vs Returns.

What is Tellvest Score Consistency vs Returns?

Score Consistency vs Returns is Tellvest's published map from consecutive high 1-10 earnings-call sentiment scores to post-earnings stock returns. It focuses on streak consistency, not a one-off 9.

For the step-by-step read path (how to walk the page, Free vs Pro, and how the company score feeds the signal), use the how-to: How to read Tellvest Score Consistency vs Returns. This page answers the research question and points you to the live map.

What counts as a consecutive high score on Tellvest?

On Returns, the streak strategy rules are:

Entry: 2nd consecutive 9+ quarter, non-elevated valuation.

Exit: Score drops below 9, or P/E and EV/Sales both above sector median.

So "consecutive high" here means at least two straight quarters at 9 or 10 on Tellvest's 1-10 earnings-call sentiment score, with valuation that is not elevated. A lone 9 is not the same filter.

Timing: 1Q returns on the page are measured from the T+2 open (two trading days after the earnings call) to the close before the next earnings. That matches a research workflow after the score is visible, not an overnight gap. The how-to explains why that framing exists; re-check Returns for the live table notes.

Do consecutive high earnings-call scores line up with post-earnings returns?

On Tellvest's published backtest, consecutive high scores (as defined above) have lined up with stronger median post-earnings returns than several comparison sets over the same window. The figures below are from that same backtest; the open disclaimer applies to every number.

1Q columns measure each quarter independently from T+2 open to close before next earnings. SPY uses matching windows.

The Consistency Premium is why the page cares about streaks: consecutive 9+ with non-elevated valuation sits well above first-time high scores in that published cut. Re-check the live table above and Returns before you cite.
