How to read these numbers

Challenge rate is the share of questions that pushed back, pressed for specifics or questioned management’s assumptions. It describes how questions were asked on the calls tracked here; it does not measure whether any view turned out to be right.

Rounding. Rates are rounded to whole percentages, so a small share can show as 0% even when some questions were challenging. The count beside each rate is exact; “none of N questions” means no question was challenging.

No questions recorded. “—” means there is nothing to calculate: no questions were recorded for that period on the calls tracked here. It does not mean there was no activity.

Fewer than 3 questions. A company-level rate is withheld when fewer than 3 questions were recorded for that company; the questions are still counted everywhere else.

Small samples. Profiles with fewer than 10 questions are marked Limited sample.

Reporting periods. Questions are grouped by the calendar quarter each company’s fiscal reporting period maps to, not by the date of the call. Periods without a calendar mapping are listed separately under their fiscal label.

Evan: not geopolitical; large-account book in US/UK/Europe at Jan 1 did better than internal expectations. Statement of confidence for a good start to the year, not a growth callout.

when you think about the pace at which you're moving on that, how constrained are you at all, if at all, by other stakeholders

Innovation & R&DCompetitive DynamicsTranscript · FY2025 Q4 →

Evan: digital partner priorities for their own growth can slow connectivity/data/analytics buildout. Only significant external constraint. Also noted December dinner was long-term intrinsic value framing, not quarterly update fodder.

Nicolas explained AI helped in two ways: writing code and accelerating testing (running scenarios to validate software behavior). Francois noted this was unusual, they built a brand-new platform infrastructure from scratch since they bought the business without systems. AI capabilities significantly sped up the process.

Any opportunistic investments you're thinking about making in tech or ops or accelerating existing investments?

Innovation & R&DRegulation PolicyTranscript · FY2025 Q4 →
Show response

Francois said no direct tech investments from QRTCs, investments made based on business needs. QRTCs reinforce the value of Bermuda presence. Nicolas added QRTCs are really an offset to the high cost of doing business in Bermuda.

I'd be curious about the margin consequences of that.

Show response

Francois said shedding worst-performing programs should improve margins, but market conditions create uncertainty on net impact. Nicolas added some shed programs were cat-exposed, poor capital allocation despite acceptable upfront results. Still expects insurance to run in the low nineties combined ratio.

I'm just curious whether or not you're you're you're seeing any noticeable signal or information there that's worth calling out

Nicolas said subject premium revisions are happening in other property (E&S property, energy) where companies had to revise growth projections down. Casualty is different, demand decline is from cedents retaining more, not underlying business shrinking. Francois added they actively monitor premium projections quarterly to avoid large downward adjustments.
