How to read cross-company mentions on earnings calls
You follow U.S. public companies. You want to know what those companies say about each other on earnings calls: customers naming suppliers, suppliers naming customers, competitors sizing each other up, partners announcing deals.
Tellvest Mentions extracts those cross-company mentions verbatim from public transcripts, classifies the relationship, and links both sides. Prior quarters on Mentions are free to browse.
Tellvest is descriptive analysis for research only. It is not investment advice.
What Mentions is (verbatim quotes, not paraphrases)
On About, Cross-Company Mentions is defined this way: companies constantly talk about each other on earnings calls. Tellvest extracts these mentions verbatim from public transcripts, classifies the relationship, and links both sides. The Mentions page shows the most talked-about companies each quarter, and every company page shows who mentioned them and who they discussed.
Two rules sit next to that definition:
- Every quoted passage is an exact substring of the source transcript and is verified automatically. Nothing is paraphrased.
- Relationships are classified from the speaking company’s perspective.
The Mentions page frames the same product as what companies say about each other on earnings calls: customers, suppliers, competitors, and partners, extracted verbatim from public transcripts. Coverage grows as each earnings season is processed.
Mentions is not a sentiment score and not a buy or sell signal. It is a structured map of who named whom, with the exact quote you can open and check.
Open Mentions and pick a free prior quarter
- Open Mentions.
- Read the free prior-quarter view. The page states that the current quarter’s mentions are part of Tellvest Pro, and it is showing Q1 '26, the most recent free quarter.
- Use the quarter chips (for example Q3 '26, Q2 '26, Q1 '26, Q4 '25, and earlier) if you want another processed season. Newest-quarter Mentions are Pro; prior quarters stay free.
- No account is required to browse the free prior-quarter Mentions table. See Pricing if you need the newest quarter everywhere.
Live headline counters on Mentions for Q1 '26 (checked 2026-09-21):
- 1,813 mentions in Q1 '26
- 471 companies talking
- 241 tracked companies mentioned
Those aggregates move as more calls are processed. Confirm the live figures on Mentions before you cite them elsewhere.
Read the most talked-about companies table
Below the counters, Mentions shows a Most talked-about companies table with three columns: Company, Mentions, and Mentioned by.
Live top rows for free Q1 '26 (checked 2026-09-21 on Mentions):
| Company | Mentions | Mentioned by (sample) |
|---|---|---|
| GOOGL | 74 | AAPL, ADBE, DGX, FIG, INTC, RDDT (+62 more) |
| NVDA | 55 | COHR, CRDO, INTC, IREN, MU, NBIS (+43 more) |
| AMZN | 52 | CHTR, ABNB, ADBE, AEP, ALAB, ARE (+45 more) |
| META | 31 | BBY, NVDA, ADBE, AMD, AMZN, ANET (+23 more) |
| MSFT | 30 | HPQ, AAPL, ADBE, ALAB, ANET, ARM (+23 more) |
Use the table to spot which names are getting the most mentions this season, then click a ticker to open that company’s page. Mentions notes that full mention detail is on each company’s page, and that all quotes are exact substrings of public earnings-call transcripts, verified automatically.
Drill a real ticker set (company pages and Mentions together)
A useful path when you care about customers, suppliers, or competitors:
- Start on Mentions for a free prior quarter (for example Q1 '26).
- Pick a name from the most-talked-about table. A live example: Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL), which shows 74 mentions in Q1 '26, with speaking companies including AAPL, ADBE, DGX, FIG, INTC, RDDT, and more.
- Open the company page for that ticker. About states that every company page shows who mentioned them and who they discussed.
- Optionally open a second company from the “Mentioned by” chips (for example AAPL from GOOGL’s row) so you can read both sides of the relationship next to each company’s free prior-quarter score and Analyst Q&A.
- Return to Mentions if you want the market-wide ranking again, or stay on company pages if you are tracking a short list of names.
Plan in one line: See who is named most. Open the company page. Read the verbatim quote and relationship in context.
For the 1–10 score on the same name, use How to get a 1–10 sentiment score. For who pressed hardest on the call, use How to grade sell-side analysts on earnings-call questions.
