AutoZone delivered its strongest revenue quarter in three years with total sales up 8.4% to $4.8 billion, driven by domestic same-store sales growth of 4.1% and commercial sales surging 10.4%. The mega hub expansion strategy continues to outperform expectations at 156 locations (targeting 300), fueling double-digit growth in both national account and up-and-down-the-street commercial segments. A $20 million LIFO charge versus a $16 million credit last year compressed reported margins, with full-year LIFO charges expected at $207 million versus $64 million in FY25. Late-quarter softness from unseasonably cool weather pulled the final two weeks' comps to 1.3%, though management expects a normal-to-hot summer to support Q4.
